Solutions to common issues inspectors encounter in the portal.
Login Issues
I can't log in — incorrect password
Click Forgot password? on the login page to reset your password. If you don't receive the reset email within 5 minutes, check your spam folder or contact Support.
My account is locked
After 5 failed login attempts, accounts are temporarily locked for 15 minutes. Wait and try again, or contact your administrator to unlock it immediately.
I don't see my invitation email
Check your spam/junk folder for an email from noreply@xpressinspect.com. If it's not there, ask your administrator to resend the invitation.
Inspection Issues
The inspection is locked and I can't open it
Another user may have the inspection open. If the lock appears stale (the other user has confirmed they are not in it), contact your administrator to release the lock.
My progress wasn't saved after closing the browser
Progress is auto-saved after each item interaction. If you closed the browser abruptly during a save, some recent changes may not have persisted. Reopen the inspection — most of your work should still be there. Check the last few items you completed.
I can't upload photos — the upload button doesn't respond
- Check your internet connection.
- Ensure the photo is under 10 MB and in JPG, PNG, or HEIC format.
- Try a different browser (Chrome is recommended).
- Disable browser extensions temporarily — some ad blockers interfere with file uploads.
The Submit button is greyed out
Validation errors are preventing submission. Scroll to the top of the Review screen — all errors are listed there with links to fix them. Resolve all errors to enable the Submit button.
Performance Issues
The portal is loading slowly
- Test your internet connection speed.
- Clear your browser cache: Ctrl+Shift+Delete (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+Delete (Mac).
- Close other browser tabs to free up memory.
- Try Chrome or Edge if you are using a different browser.
Photos aren't displaying in the report preview
This is usually a temporary rendering issue. Refresh the page. If photos still don't appear, try downloading the preview PDF — photos render independently there.
