Conducting Inspections
Step 5: Attaching Photos
How to upload and caption photos that support your findings.
Photo Requirements
- Photos are required for all Fail findings.
- Accepted formats: JPG, PNG, HEIC
- Maximum file size: 10 MB per photo
- Maximum photos per item: 10
- Minimum resolution: 1 megapixel (blurry or dark images may be rejected during review)
Uploading Photos
1
Click the camera icon
On any checklist item, click the 📷 camera icon to open the photo upload panel for that item.
2
Select or capture photos
Click Upload from device to select existing photos, or use Take photo (on mobile/tablet) to capture directly with your camera.
3
Add a caption
Enter a brief caption describing what the photo shows. Good captions help reviewers understand context without needing to zoom in.
4
Confirm upload
Photos are uploaded immediately. A thumbnail confirms the upload was successful. Repeat for additional photos on the same item.
Photo Best Practices
- Take both a wide shot (showing context/location) and a close-up (showing the defect) for each finding.
- Ensure adequate lighting — use your device's flash in dark areas.
- Avoid capturing personally identifiable information (faces, ID documents) in photos.
- Take photos on site — do not use photos from prior inspections or internet sources.
Photos must be taken at the time of inspection. Submitting photos from a different date or location is a policy violation and may result in report rejection.
